We are working with a game powerhouse seeking a Head of Design to set the bar across our full portfolio.
You will lead a team of Game Design Leads across four live titles and make sure the discipline grows alongside the franchise. The design decisions that shape this franchise over the next five years will come from the team you develop. You will report directly to the Executive Director of Production.

Your Mission
  • Lead the Game Design Department and manage Game Design Leads as your direct reports.
  • Hire and develop people, own the headcount plan and budget, and anticipate departmental needs.
  • Shape the design vision and set the long-term direction for game design across the studio.
  • Define and enforce the design quality bar across all productions.
  • Create conditions where designers feel safe raising problems, pushing back, and asking for help.
  • Actively find where AI tools can improve design workflows, prototyping, and iteration speed.
Your Profile
  • Deep, firsthand knowledge of strategy games, grand strategy, 4X, or adjacent genres on PC or mobile.
  • 7+ years in game design, with several years leading designers or teams.
  • A track record of building strong design teams and managing organizational change.
  • Hands-on experience with budgeting, headcount planning, and resource forecasting at a department level.
  • Clear communicator with a genuine AI affinity who is already using AI tools in their design practice.
  • Experience taking at least one F2P or long-running live title through multiple live-ops cycles is highly preferred.
