We are looking for two Camera Cinematics Animators to craft high-energy, dynamic camera sequences that capture the spectacle and personality of this project.
Collaborating closely with the Lead and Principal Animators, you will drive the visual storytelling for both cinematic showcases and visceral in-game combat moments. The day-to-day split is approximately 80% dynamic camera work and 20% character animation polish.
While your main priority will be directing the action through the camera lens animation, your foundational character animation skills will allow you to step in to polish keyframes, clean up mocap data, and troubleshoot across both cinematic and gameplay animations whenever required.

Key Responsibilities
- Dynamic Camera Direction (80%): Conceive, block out, and animate high-impact camera sequences from initial layout and previs through to final in-engine execution.
- Cinematic Storytelling: Make deliberate creative choices around framing, lens selection, camera pacing, and staging to maximize the punch and drama of character intros, ultimates, and team combat.
- Character Animation Polish (20%): Assist the wider animation team with character animation cleanup, transitions, and quality-of-life fixes across both cinematic sequences and in-game assets.
- Real-Time Implementation: Integrate, test, and refine camera tracks and animation sequences directly inside the game engine to ensure seamless performance and visual fidelity. (Unity)
- Cross-Discipline Collaboration: Partner with the Lead Animator, Principal Animators, and Art Director to push visual quality and establish a signature cinematic style for the project.
- Previs & Layout Pedigree: Proven production experience handling layout, previs, and cinematic camera work within video games, film, TV, or a comparable CG pipeline.
- Strong Cinematography Instincts: A sharp eye for camera language, dynamic movement, shot composition, timing, and lens choice.
- Core Animation Fundamentals: Solid 3D character animation skills and broad CG generalist knowledge to comfortably handle the 20% character polish portion of the role.
- 3D Software Proficiency: Extensive hands-on experience with Maya (candidates coming from a 3ds Max background will also be considered).
- Engine Experience: Practical experience implementing and tweaking assets inside Unity or a similar modern real-time game engine.
- A Standout Showreel: A portfolio demonstrating dynamic camera work, strong layout/previs sense, and impactful visual storytelling.
