About the Role We are partnering with an established mobile game studio to recruit a skilled and visionary Senior Environment Artist to help shape the visual identity of their upcoming and live mobile titles.

In this role, you will be a cornerstone of the Art & Design team, balancing hands-on environment creation with high-level style exploration and world-building.

Working closely with the Creative Director, you will define the look-development for environments, architecture, and core gameplay spaces while translating creative visions into clear, actionable documentation for internal production teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead environment look-development and iterate across diverse stylized art directions to establish a cohesive, inviting aesthetic for new and live mobile titles.
  • Create benchmark environment assets, 3D block-outs, modular architectural sets, lighting setups, paintovers, and orthographics to set the visual quality bar for the project.
  • Draft comprehensive environment design briefs, style guides, and architecture breakdown documents that clearly define rendering techniques, lighting, and shape language.
  • Establish and maintain project design boards using digital whiteboarding platforms such as FigJam or Miro to streamline the review pipeline and support cross-discipline alignment.
  • Provide actionable artistic and technical feedback to internal teams and external vendors, ensuring all environment assets align with visual pillars and mobile gameplay mechanics.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of environment art experience in the gaming industry, supported by a shipped portfolio demonstrating Senior-level environment work in mobile games.
  • Prior experience developing environments, dioramas, or renovation spaces for Casual, Match-3, or Merge mobile games is a strong advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt across varied stylized art styles, with a deep understanding of mobile readability, color theory, and small-screen constraints.
  • Strong proficiency with 3D software (such as Blender, Maya, or ZBrush) for modeling, sculpting, base block-outs, and managing the 2D-to-3D environment production pipeline.
  • Mastery of Photoshop or equivalent digital painting and texturing software, alongside comfort using Miro or FigJam to organize references and feedback.
  • Proven track record of creating environment style guides, architecture breakdown documents, and asset briefs for 3D modelers, UI artists, and external outsourcing partners.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate artistic decisions and advocate for visual quality.
Bonus Qualifications
  • Strong 2D concepting and paintover skills to rapidly iterate on environment lighting, mood, and architectural layouts.
  • Professional proficiency or fluency in Mandarin Chinese to facilitate seamless communication with the internal development team.
