Lead Game Programmer
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - Hybrid
6 month contract - high chance to turn permanent
We’re looking for a Lead Engineer to guide the technical vision of an internal Unity project while remaining hands-on with development. You’ll lead a small, talented engineering team, define system architecture, and ensure performance and scalability across platforms. Working closely with design and art, you’ll prototype and refine gameplay features, drive code quality through reviews and standards, and mentor engineers as the team grows. Over time, the role will evolve to support co-development projects, collaborating with external teams and helping establish processes and best practices that scale beyond a single product.

Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering team in building and optimizing core gameplay systems, tools, and pipelines in Unity (C#).
- Define the project’s technical architecture, ensuring clean integration between systems.
- Collaborate with design and art leads to prototype and refine gameplay features.
- Drive code reviews, maintain coding standards, and ensure technical excellence.
- Identify technical risks and propose solutions proactively.
- Mentor and grow the technical team, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
- Contribute to developing processes and best practices that will later support external co-development projects.
