Lead Game Designer

We’re looking to add a hands-on Lead Game Designer to join our existing and in-development game team.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
• Lead the game design team and efforts
• Work with the Creative Director to oversee high-level decisions that affect gameplay and user experience
• Collaborate with the Creative Director to define the creative strategy for the product and future planning
• Work across the entire company with other lead game designers to brainstorm game and feature ideas as well as guide the team to strengthen the current ones
• Generate excitement and enthusiasm among the team and be responsible for the team performance and well being
• Build a collaborative relationship with each functional team
• Be an amazing people manager to our Game Designers by helping them develop their careers
• Be a part of the design leadership of the company

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
• Significant game design experience, including successfully shipping titles as a Lead Game Designer
• Player-centered approach and ability to adapt design solutions to test and focus group results when needed
• Proven experience of successful collaboration with game and company leadership
• Passion for playing and making games as well as an excellent understanding of what makes them fun
• Previous experience working on mobile games, F2P being a must
• Strong knowledge of video games, both current and historical, across all platforms
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of current mobile games trends as well as design mechanics within them
• Strong affinity for and understanding of free-to-play mechanics and economies
• Ability to match game quality goals and scope to coincide with schedule, staffing plan and budget
• Experience with improving design processes and practices to increase quality and accuracy
• Outstanding communication skills in English
• Deep understanding of the bigger picture of game development, including the impact of their decisions with respect to financial outcomes
• Ability to inspire teams to make the highest quality product possible
• Passion for mentoring other designers
